About

Luis Martinez has always been around cars. His passion started at only 3 years of age when his father, Luis Martinez Sr., took him to his first race. Since then gasoline has been in Luis’s blood. When he was young Luis helped out his father building drag cars at the family shop. His father raced in NHRA sportman’s series for many years and at the age of 16 Luis took over the family hobby and began competing in the NHRA himself. Later Luis wanted to try his car building skills in a professional car show competition organization. He started Luis Martinez Designs, a marketing, consulting, & project car development company and has become a well-known car builder with many awards under his belt. In 2006 Luis became fascinated with a new sport arriving in the U.S. called “drifting”. Luis built his first drift car in 2007 and fell in love with the sport immediately.
